Mixing a New Record

A bit of time has passed and we are mixing the new record. Ian Pellicci, at Tiny Telephone, is a sweet gentle man with lovely ears. We are so happy to be here! Just on the first song, but we’ll keep you posted. Look for the new CD, “Stars of Bean Hollow” to be released later this year.

Back in the Studio

Despite the fact that “eep” is just beginning to make it’s way out in the world, gaining friends near and far, this past February Vanessa returned to the warm home-away-from-home that is Oakland’s Guerrilla Recording to record a new batch of songs for the upcoming CD, “Bean Hollow”. As with both “57 Suspect Words” and “eep”, Vanessa was joined by Ben Freelove on bass, Kent Sparling on Tiny Instruments, and Myles Boisen on electric guitar. The sessions were produced by Sparling and engineered by Boisen. Vanessa will continue recording over the next several weeks, with the aim of releasing “Bean Hollow” close on the heels of “eep”, so that they might travel together. We shall keep you posted on progress right here.

It’s with great pleasure that we introduce the newly revised vanessalowe.com website, and announce the release of ‘eep’, Vanessa Lowe’s fourth CD on the Jicama Salad Company’s Mighty Prawn label. Like the magical transformation of caterpillars into a butterflies, ‘eep’s 14 songs, born around the same time as those on 2004’s ’57 Suspect Words’, have been tucked away in a warm silk cocoon, growing wings and readying for flight right up until this very day.
